Hawthorn

In folklore, the Hawthorn is known as the Fairy Tree — a sacred symbol of protection, renewal, and balance, said to stand at the threshold between this world and the Otherworld. Revered for its blossoms in May and its sharp thorns, it embodies the harmony between beauty and strength, grace and resilience.

Blooming each spring around Beltane, it symbolised fertility, hope, and the turning of the seasons — a reminder that transformation often requires both softness and strength.
